Her areas of scholarship and teaching include political sociology, political economy, and sociology of law. She is currently completing a book manuscript looking at the evolution of the state-economy relationship in the US as the backdrop to the financial crisis and the political developments that emerged in its aftermath.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #3d3a3a\"><span style=\"text-align: justify\">Professor Kus<\/span><span style=\"text-align: justify\"> completed her PhD in Sociology at UC-Berkeley, and her BA at Bogazici University in Istanbul. Before joining Wesleyan, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Yale and Princeton universities, and at University College Dublin in Ireland as a lecturer. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #3d3a3a\"><span style=\"text-align: justify\">Having grown up in Turkey,<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #3d3a3a\"><span style=\"text-align: justify\"> she constantly misses the Mediterranean, but she is happy to have settled in New England.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Basak Kus is Associate Professor of Government at Wesleyan University.
