Basak Kus is Associate Professor of Government, and Tutor in the College of Social Studies at Wesleyan University. Her areas of scholarship and teaching include political sociology, political economy, and sociology of law. She is currently completing a book looking at the evolution of the state-finance relationship in the US as the backdrop to the financial crisis and the political developments that emerged in its aftermath.
Professor Kus grew up in Turkey. She has studied, conducted research, and taught in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Although she constantly misses the Mediterranean, she is happy to have settled in New England.
